Rory Feek is a country singer and songwriter who won a Grammy award. He's known for making music with his wife, Joey, in a group called Joey+Rory. Rory was born on April 25, 1965, in Atchison, Kansas. He started his musical journey a long time ago and has been making music for many years.
Rory and Joey became famous in 2008 when they joined a TV show called "Can You Duet" on CMT. Even though they finished third, people loved their music. After that, they became a well-known country music duo. They mixed traditional and bluegrass styles in their music and wrote songs with deep feelings and real stories.
Their first album, "The Life of a Song," came out in 2008 and got a lot of good reviews. They released more albums like "Album Number Two" in 2010 and "His and Hers" in 2012. These albums made them even more popular in the country music world. Their songs often talked about love, family, and life in the countryside.
Sadly, Joey Martin Feek, Rory's wife, passed away in March 2016 because of cervical cancer. Even after Joey was gone, Rory kept their music alive. He shared their story on his blog called "This Life I Live," where he wrote about their life on a farm in Tennessee and the hard times they faced.
Besides making music with Joey+Rory, Rory Feek released his own album called "Gentle Man" in 2021. He made this album after Joey passed away. The songs in it talk about everyday life, feeling sad, getting better, and finding hope. Rory worked with other famous country artists like Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, and Allison Krauss on this album.
Rory Feek's music is honest, and he's really good at telling stories through his songs. He cares a lot about his faith, family, and the power of love.
Funny How Love Can Change A Man That Way is a song co-written by Rory Feek and long time friend Danny Potter. They performed this song on Larry's Country Diner but other than that, I don't believe Rory has ever recorded the song for an album or released it as a single, hence no album cover here.
Gentleman is a track from Rory's solo album from 2021 entitled Gentle Man.
There is little info on this song except to know it was never released as a single.
One Angel is a song from Rory's album Gentle Man from 2011 and features a duet with long time friend and country icon, Dolly Parton.
This song was never released as a single.
Small Talk Cafe is a track from the 2021 album Gentle Man, which is the first solo album from Grammy-award-winning artist Rory Feek (of Joey+Rory) & the first he's recorded since losing his wife and collaborator in 2016 to cancer.
On Gentle Man, Rory tells stories about everyday small-town life and has collaborations with many well known artist sin country music. This track, Small Town Cafe is a duet with Ricky Skaggs.
This track was never released as a single.
Teaching Me How To Love You is a track from the Joey And Rory album His And Hers which was released back in 2012.
To my knowledge this song was never released as a single.
The track has a laid back vibe using the rhythm pattern root down up root up down up in standard tuning. They recorded this with a capo on the 1st but that's always optional. A few riffs and a short picking sequence needed using the chords C, F, G, Am, Csus and a Gsus.
To Do What I Do is a track from The Singer And The Song: Joey And Rory Vol 1" from his audio CD. As an award-winning artist and storyteller, Rory has navigated a profound shift in his life, embracing 'a new normal' while caring for his daughter Indiana.
Amidst parenting, managing his farm, and crafting a bestseller, Rory returned to his musical roots, marking a poignant moment since the passing of his beloved wife, Joey.
This collection encapsulates the soulful essence of their shared lives and careers, featuring songs that illuminated the best moments of their journey.
There is an accompanying DVD not only treats audiences to acoustic performances by Rory but also provides an intimate tour of the farm. An interview with Bill Gaither captures Rory's ever-inspiring story of hope, creating a touching tribute to the enduring legacy of love and resilience.
This track was never released as a single.
