Welcome to my Say It Again Don Williams page you'll find the lyrics to this song, a free pdf chords and lyrics sheet along with a tutorial demo and a link to purchase full lessons in .mp4 format.
Say It Again was another track from the 1976 album Harmony. Don Williams had a #1 country hit in the US with this release as well as a #4 in Canada. This song was another Bob McDill creation as you've heard me say on other pages, a writer who penned more than 30 #1 hits for various artists.
This one spent 12 weeks on the chart for Don and was the A-side of the single with the song I Don't Want The Money as the B-Side.
The song finished #8 on the country chart by the end of 1976. The Harmony album was Don's 5th album and also produced another #1 hit as only two singles were released. That other song was Til The Rivers All Run Dry, which I have a lesson for on the main Don Williams page.
Oh, all I needed - was one look
One magic moment - was all it took
From that moment - I love you so
Now that I found you - I’m never gonna let you go
So, c'mon say it - say it again
It's sounds so good - say it one more time and then
Oh, if you mean it - say it again
The hard part's over - and the lovin' part begins
Break
Oh, hold me closer - make me warm
I feel wanted - here in your arms
I've been lonely - for too long
I've waited a life time - for you to come along
So, c'mon say it - say it again
It's sounds so good - say it one more time and then
Oh, if you mean it - say it again
The hard part's over - and the lovin' part begins
So, c'mon say it - say it again
It's sounds so good - say it one more time and then
Oh, if you mean it - say it again
The hard part's over - and the lovin' part begins
Break
Say It Again is one of those nice little top tappin songs which is common from Don's music. This is another one of of three chord country songs with this one in the key of G and followed by a C and D. You may find vocally this one gets up there, especially near the end of the verse and in the chorus as its climbs to that high end of G.
Rhythm wise this one follows the root down root up down up pattern which is common in many songs not just country. You could play a bit of bass note strumming with this if you choose to but you'd only have enough time on the G and C chords in some areas as the changes happen too quickly for the D chord except on the first place in the chorus.
In the original recoding of Don's you'll hear a steel or Dobro playing a riff and the main break but that can easily be duplicated on the acoustic a you'll see me do in the video. All of these sections are fully explained in the full lesson tutorial.
