Cruise was released as single in 2012 and then eventually ended up on the album "Here's To The Good Times" in Dec of that year.
This song stayed at #1 for 24 weeks ... holding the record until Sam Hunts Body Like A Back Road took that honor.
Drinking Problem is a standout country rock song by Midland, featured on their 2017 album, "On The Rocks." The song became a defining moment in the band's career, launching them into the country music spotlight.
Written by the members of Midland, Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, Jess Carson, and acclaimed songwriter Shane McAnally, "Drinkin' Problem" struck a chord with audiences for its traditional country sound and relatable lyrics.
The song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, becoming a massive hit and earning the band widespread recognition.
Over the years, "Drinkin' Problem" has become a country music anthem, with its memorable melody and heartfelt storytelling. It has been covered and performed by various artists, showcasing its enduring appeal and influence in the genre.
One interesting piece of trivia about the song is that it was inspired by the classic country sound of the '70s and '80s, and it captures the essence of honky-tonk and heartache, reminiscent of country legends like George Jones and Merle Haggard.
Its success not only launched Midland into the country music scene but also signaled a resurgence of traditional country sounds in modern country music.
Fourteen Gears is another great song by Midland, found on their album "Let It Roll." This song is a perfect example of how the band mixes old-fashioned country music with a modern rock twist.
The talented trio of Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, and Jess Carson wrote this song, and it's a good example of how Midland tells stories through their music. Even though it didn't become as popular as some of their other songs, it's still loved by their fans and shows the band's wide range of musical skills.
"Fourteen Gears" is an important part of Midland's music collection. People like it for its meaningful lyrics and the special way the band sings together. It has a classic country sound that reminds us of the past, but it also has a fresh, modern touch. This mix of old and new is what makes Midland's music so interesting and enjoyable.
Longneck Way To Go was a song written by Rhett Akins and pitched to both Midland first and country artist Jon Pardi second.
Midland was stalling on recording the song so Rhett contacted Jon Pardi, who immediately liked the song. Since Pardi was friends with the band, he spoke to them about the song and they decided a collaboration might be a good idea.
The track was the 2nd single from their 2022 album The Last Resort: Greetings From album and peaked at #52 on the country charts. Jon Pardi went on to record a version of his one also and can be found on his 2022 album Mr. Saturday Night.
Midnight Mess Around is a track from Old Dominion's 2019 album Old Dominion.
This song was never released as a single. The band made a music video of themselves in the studio recording the song which makes me scratch my head as to why make a video of a song if there is no single
being released? Four other songs from the album were singles.
Out of Sight is a compelling track by Midland, featured on their 2017 album "On The Rocks." The song is a testament to the band's ability to blend classic country elements with a fresh and modern sound, which has become their signature style.
Written by Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, Jess Carson, and Josh Osborne, "Out of Sight" showcases Midland's songwriting prowess. Although it may not have received as much attention as some of their chart-topping hits, it remains a noteworthy addition to their musical catalog.
"Out of Sight" has maintained a special place in Midland's discography, appreciated by their fans for its heartfelt lyrics and the band's harmonious vocals. The song captures the essence of traditional country music while infusing it with a contemporary twist, a characteristic that defines Midland's unique sound.
Rodeo Girl was co-written by brothers Gary and Micky Braun but I'm not sure when they recorded the song or if it has been released as single.
Russell County Line is a new single from Virginia based based 49 Winchester. I have no idea if this song did well on the charts or not.
It can be found on their 2022 Fortune Favors The Bold album.
