Imagine That is a track on the 2012 album "And So It Goes". This album was Don's first in over 8 years. He hadn't released this track as a single but oddly enough this song was chosen to be a music video featuring Keith Urban.
As many of you may know, Keith was a big fan of Don Williams growing up as his dad played lots of Don Williams records in the home. So it's no surprise that eventually both would meet and thankfully record this number together. Why it was not released as a single is a bit odd to me.
The song was written by Kieran Kane and Jamie O'Hara. Some other well known artists on this album besides Keith Urban were Vince Gill, Chris Stapleton and Alison Krauss. The album itself made it into the top 20.
No more nights - sleeping alone
In an empty bed - in an empty home
Someone to talk to
Someone to hold - in my arms
Imagine that - how sweet it'd be
To have you here - again with me
Oh lord I wish - I had you back
But all I can do - is imagine that
Break
No more silence - in the hall
No more staring - at the walls
Someone to laugh with
Someone to share - in my dreams
Imagine that - how sweet it'd be
To have you here - again with me
Oh lord I wish - I had you back
But all I can do - is imagine that
Imagine that - how sweet it'd be
To have you here - again with me
Oh lord I wish - I had you back
But all I can do - is imagine that
Break
Imagine that - how sweet it'd be
To have you here - again with me
Oh lord I wish - I had you back
But all I can do - is imagine that
Break
A nice number here with Keith Urban and a pretty simple song when you analyze it because there are only three chords in this song and they are D, A and G. One could modify the into or leave it as it is.
The rhythm is a standard root down up bass up down up and repeat where root is the note of the chord you are on and the corresponding bass notes A for the D chord, E for the A chord and D for the G chord.
There are a few spots here for some melody picking breaks for the guitar as well which is fully explained in the full lesson tutorial. Overall a nice toe tapper there from Don Williams and Keith Urban.
